Jewish Cemetery Desecrated in Germany

      Unknown attackers have devastated a historic Jewish cemetery in Bavaria. The vandals overturned about 60 headstones, irreparably damaging half, police said Monday.....Berlin rabbi Yehuda Teichtal told Bild newspaper: "This is a new dimension of anti-Semitism in Berlin. Maurice Papon

      Maurice Papon, a former Cabinet minister who was convicted of complicity in crimes against humanity for his role in deporting Jews during World War II and became a symbol of France's collaboration with the Nazis, died Saturday. He was 96. Papon, who underwent surgery on his pacemaker at a clinic east of Paris last week, died in his sleep on Saturday, said his lawyer, Francis Vuillemin. Papon was the highest-ranking Frenchman to be convicted for a role in the pro-Nazi Vichy regime.(AP -Feb 17)

Ernst Zundel

     A German court on Thursday convicted far-right activist Ernst Zundel of 14 counts of incitement for denying the Holocaust, and sentenced him to the maximum five years in prison. The 67-year-old, who was deported from Canada in 2005, was accused of conducting anti-Semitic activities for years, including denying the Holocaust - a crime in Germany - in documents and on the Internet.
